The Sarina Russo Group is proud to collaborate with ODA (Optical Dispensers Australia) and ACOD (Australian College of Optical Dispensing) on their groundbreaking Pre-Employment Program, which has exceeded capacity in Melbourne and is creating waves in addressing industry staff shortages.

This program equips participants with essential technical and customer service skills, preparing them to excel as optical assistants or begin a rewarding career in optical dispensing. By combining hands-on training, industry engagement, and a nationally recognised unit of competency (BSBCUS301 – Deliver and monitor a service to customers), the initiative offers candidates a robust foundation for professional success.

Key highlights include:

  • Comprehensive introduction to the ophthalmic industry
  • Practical workshops covering frame selection, adjustments, and basic dispensing techniques
  • Guest lectures from industry partners, sparking inspiration and career aspirations

The program’s inaugural session in Melbourne’s Sunshine suburb drew 22 participants from diverse professional backgrounds, underscoring its broad appeal. The demand for this training has been so significant that a second program in Fitzroy is already fully booked, with plans to expand nationwide in 2025.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to empowering lives and energising industries.
