Held every year on the first of October, International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) is a day where we give thanks to our elderly community and raise awareness about the challenges they face in today's world.
The theme for this year’s IDOP day is "Digital Equity for All Ages”. At least 19% of the population who are aged 60 years or older don’t have access to or aren’t confident using technology such as computers or smart phones. ¹²
According to a recent report by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), women and the elderly are the most affected by digital inequity. ³
With digital workers accounting for 52 % of the working population,⁴ digital inclusion and technological support for our growing older population is vital.
The Sarina Russo Institute (SRI) understands the technological challenges facing our older community and is committed to helping them overcome their barriers through digital literacy training, guidance and support.
Our Career Transition Program (CTA) offered at SRI is designed for people aged 45 and over who wish to build their digital literacy skills and create real employment opportunities through practical learning and face-to-face engagement.
SRI is Australia's leading provider of the CTA Program. To register your interest or find out more information, please click here.
