The Sarina Russo Group proudly celebrates the achievements of graduates recognised at the James Cook University Brisbane Graduation Ceremony on Monday, 14 September 2026.
Held across two ceremonies, the graduation recognised the dedication, resilience and determination of students who successfully completed their studies and are now ready to pursue exciting opportunities in Australia and around the world.
The day commenced with a special congratulatory message from Dr Sarina Russo AM, Founder and Managing Director of the Sarina Russo Group, encouraging graduates to embrace the future with confidence, purpose and ambition. The ceremony also included an Acknowledgement of Country, delivered by Violet Geesu, SRG's National Indigenous Services Manager, honouring the Traditional Custodians of the land and paying respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
The ceremony brought together graduates from JCU Brisbane and other JCU campuses, celebrating the successful completion of their studies and the achievements that have led them to this important milestone. Graduates represented 34 countries, reflecting the global reach of the university and its strong international community.
Graduates and guests were inspired by keynote speaker Mr Michael Rowland, one of Australia's most respected journalists and television presenters. Sharing lessons from his own career journey, Mr Rowland spoke about resilience, learning from setbacks and embracing opportunities for growth. His message encouraged graduates to approach the future with courage, determination and optimism.
The graduation also recognised the commitment of JCU academics whose knowledge, mentorship and support have helped students reach this significant milestone. Their dedication has played an important role in preparing graduates for success in their chosen careers and future endeavours.
