Nestled in the heart of rural New South Wales, Itchy Goat Art is a unique fusion of farm life and creative expression, founded by Sophie Stone, affectionately known as “Herd Mum.” What began as a joyful connection with miniature goats has blossomed into a vibrant business offering outdoor art experiences that blend mindfulness, relaxation, and animal companionship. With the support of the Self-Employment Assistance Program, delivered by Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs, Sophie transformed her passion into a thriving enterprise, guided by experienced business coach Joe Doyle.
Itchy Goat Art invites participants of all ages and skill levels to enjoy 2.5-hour art sessions in the company of friendly goats, including Australian Miniature, Pygmy, Alpine, and crossbreeds. Whether you're painting with non-toxic acrylics, drawing freehand, or using a cheat sheet canvas, the focus is on making memories—not just masterpieces. Each session includes a farm visit, interactive time with the goats, a healthy “Kid V Kid” brunch, and all the materials needed to create your own “Goat-A-Lisa” to take home.
Sophie’s journey through the Self-Employment Assistance Program empowered her to refine her business model, develop her offerings, and confidently promote her brand. Her participation in the Canterbury Leagues Club Self-Employment Assistance Event on 31 July, alongside Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs, showcased the creativity and community spirit behind Itchy Goat Art. The event highlighted how the program supports diverse business ideas and helps entrepreneurs like Sophie turn their passions into sustainable ventures.
Itchy Goat Art beautifully illustrates how the Self-Employment Assistance Program can nurture unconventional ideas and help them flourish. With continued support from Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs, Sophie and her herd are inspiring others to embrace their unique paths and explore the joy of self-employment.
