On the 18th November 2021, James Cook University (JCU) Brisbane, operated by Russo Higher Education Brisbane, held its triannual Academic Excellence Award Ceremony.
The Academic Excellence Award Ceremony recognises and celebrates exceptional students for their outstanding academic achievements.
Brisbane is currently the only JCU campus that offers Academic Excellence Scholarships, a highly sought-after incentive for JCU students.
Students can qualify and receive academic excellence recognition after finishing their second trimester of study.
Scholarships are awarded to students who achieved an average GPA of 6.0 or higher at the end of their second and third trimesters. These scholarships allow students to offset tuition fees for their following trimester.
JCU Brisbane also presents students with silver or gold medals and an official commendation certificate signed by the Campus Executive for students who maintained an average GPA of 6.0 or higher in their fourth trimesters.
This year’s ceremony was extra special for the award recipients as Sarina Russo, Founder and Managing Director of the Sarina Russo Group, attended and presented the students with their awards.
Sarina gave an inspiring speech before handing out awards to the JCU Brisbane's award recipients. After the ceremony, Sarina spent time with each student, offering advice, support, and guidance.
Awardees, guests and academics celebrated the event with some light refreshments while photos were taken to record this momentous occasion.
