The Parent Pathways Program continues to make a meaningful difference for parents as they navigate work, study and family life and Mia Riordan’s journey is a wonderful example of its impact.
As a single mum, Mia was juggling the demands of motherhood while feeling overwhelmed and unsure of her next steps. Like many parents, she found herself feeling lost and unsupported during a challenging period of her life. Through Parent Pathways, Mia was connected with Parent Pathways Mentor Amanda Renshaw, whose guidance, encouragement and consistent support helped Mia regain confidence and direction.
Reflecting on her experience, Mia shared:
“I had such a great experience with Parent Pathways and you especially made me feel very supported every step of the way and helped motivate me with your positivity and encouragement. I definitely wouldn’t have succeeded otherwise. Being a single mum and struggling in the thick of motherhood and doing everything alone, I felt so lost for so long. I’m very grateful for the program and what I’ve accomplished because of it. I’m supporting my son without having to rely on Centrelink payments now, and I’m going to keep studying and gain more qualifications. Forever grateful.”
With the tailored one-on-one support provided by the Parent Pathways Program, Mia has successfully gained employment, improving her financial independence. She is now planning to continue her studies to further strengthen her future and support her son.
