Siobhan has always had a deep love for birth and motherhood—a calling that led her to become a Birthworker, Birth and Postpartum Doula, and student Lactation Consultant. Through her business, Matru Prema (meaning “a mother’s love” in Sanskrit), she provides holistic maternal care inspired by traditional Ayurvedic practices. Her services include birth and postpartum support, placenta encapsulation, prints, and tinctures, all designed to honour the sacred journey of motherhood.
Operating across Adelaide Hills, metropolitan Adelaide, and surrounding regions, Siobhan creates a space of gentleness and nurture for mothers, helping them savour the fleeting yet beautiful moments of pregnancy and postpartum.
However, like many passionate entrepreneurs, Siobhan faced challenges when it came to the business side of her work. “Doulas are required to be self-employed, and while I adored the work, I had no prior business experience,” she shares. “Bookkeeping and marketing were overwhelming.”
That is when Siobhan joined the Self-Employment Assistance Program through Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs. The program gave her the tools and confidence to grow her business and expand her services. “The support offered through the program has been instrumental in achieving the growth I hoped for,” Siobhan says. “It helped me refine the business aspects I struggled with.”
A key part of her success was the guidance of her business coach, Marielba Bortone. “Marielba brought a wealth of knowledge and guidance that was invaluable. Her support throughout the program made all the difference.”
Today, Siobhan’s business is thriving, and she continues to provide compassionate care to mothers and families while running a sustainable, well-managed enterprise.

Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs supports candidates as they complete Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business. During this, candidates create a comprehensive business plan and a two-year financial cash forecast. SRE Trainers provide meaningful mentoring for the first twelve months.
Eligible candidates receive the training and support to create a viable business plan, in addition to obtaining a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
