After a workplace injury changed the course of their career, Kerri-Ann Foster faced a pivotal decision – what’s next? Rather than seeing this as a setback, she embraced the opportunity to create something meaningful not just for herself, but for others navigating life’s challenges.
With guidance from Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs’ Self-Employment Assistance Program and dedicated business coach Louise Marshall, Supportive Life Counselling was born. The practice is built on empathy, understanding, and realism; values shaped by lived experience with autism, ADHD, chronic pain, and the struggle to find practical support.
“I wanted Supportive Life Counselling to provide flexible, down-to-earth care that meets clients where they are; realistic support for real life,” says Kerri.
The service focuses on young people and adults managing autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression, while remaining open to supporting individuals from all walks of life. It is more than counselling, it is about creating a safe space where clients feel understood and empowered.
Thanks to the Self-Employment Assistance Program, Kerri received expert guidance on business planning, marketing strategies, and sustainable growth. Louise Marshall’s coaching ensured the vision for Supportive Life Counselling became a reality.

The Self-Employment Assistance is 100% Australian Government funded.
Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs supports candidates as they complete Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business. During this, candidates create a comprehensive business plan and a two-year financial cash forecast. SRE Trainers provide meaningful mentoring for the first twelve months.
Eligible candidates receive the training and support to create a viable business plan, in addition to obtaining a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
