Workforce Australia Eligibility

ELIGIBILITY AT A GLANCE

The Workforce Australia program is designed to help you move from income support payments into paid employment. You may be eligible for Workforce Australia services if you receive payments such as:

  • JobSeeker
  • Youth Allowance
  • Parenting
  • Any other payment that has mutual obligation requirements

Mutual obligations are certain tasks and activities you have to complete in return for your payment. These might include looking for work, studying, training or attending appointments with employment services providers.

Services Australia will assess your circumstances and eligibility to access the Workforce Australia program. If you are eligible, they will refer you to a Workforce Australia provider.

Are there other ways to access Workforce Australia?

FURTHER SUPPORT

If you aren’t on any of the income support payments listed above, or you’re receiving income support but don’t have mutual obligations, you may be able to volunteer for Workforce Australia services if you:

  • are not working or studying full-time, and
  • have the right to work in Australia.

Find more information about how to apply for Workforce Australia services as a volunteer jobseeker.
