Who is Parent Pathways for?
- Parents or carers of children under 6
- Parents not currently in paid employment
- Who reside in an eligible area.
Participants may also receive benefits like Parenting Payment, Carer Payment, or Special Benefit, but eligibility extends to young parents, early school leavers, and First Nations parents, even if they are not receiving Centrelink payments.
What Support is available? The program offers:
- Language and literacy programs
- Help with childcare costs and childcare centre referrals
- Financial support for training or study materials
- Access to community services such as family and domestic violence support
- Career guidance and training
How Parent Pathways works?
The service is entirely voluntary and tailored to each participant’s needs. Parents work with a mentor to create a personalised plan, with the flexibility to attend appointments in person, over the phone, or online. The program accommodates family schedules, allowing parents to join, leave, or return as needed.
