Liam was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a very young age, but that has not stopped him from creating a business that gives back to the community. With the help of Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs, Liam has started his own business offering support to those who need it.
Ability2Connect is an NDIS provider operating in Onkaparinga, Adelaide. It provides support to people with disabilities in the local suburbs of Reynella, Morphett Vale, Noarlunga and other southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia.
Being a former participant of the NDIS program himself, Liam has excellent knowledge of what support workers can and cannot do and he knows first-hand what it is like to live with a disability. This has given Liam invaluable experience and empathy in this area. Ability2Connect is passionately committed to being person-centred; making support options unique to the individual and ensuring they receive the best support.
When asked about the NEIS Program, Liam responded:
“I enjoyed all aspects of the NEIS Program, as it got me thinking about the possibility of operating a business as an NDIS Provider. I enjoyed writing my business plan, as it gave me the opportunity to see my idea of an NDIS Provider business written down and not just a thought in my head or a dream.”
“The training helped me understand how to start my business as I had no idea of how to go about it; it made me go deeper in realising all the aspects of becoming an NDIS provider and all the requirements that I needed to become a provider.”
Over the next few years, Liam’s goals are to expand his client base and introduce new services to the business.
